OMNISECURE 2026 in Berlin - State of AI in the Public Sector

Our Founder Kasia Sadowska joined the "State of AI" panel at OMNISECURE 2026 in Berlin alongside Daniel Hoepfner, Christian Brüseke, and Erich Lehmann - discussing European tech sovereignty, practical AI use cases, and EU digital identity wallets.

OMNISECURE 2026 in Berlin brought together public sector leaders and innovators to discuss the state of AI and digital identity in Europe.

Panel: State of AI (Public Sector)

I joined the panel moderated by Daniel Hoepfner, with fellow panellists Christian Brüseke (Comma Soft AG) and Erich Lehmann (Die Forschungszulage).

    Quick Takeaways

    • Align on what already exists in Europe (e.g., ElevenLabs, Lovable, Mistral) - establish a common understanding and shared baseline.
    • Shift from demos to practical use cases and selective in-house builds where IP, speed, and data sensitivity matter.

The open question: Build our own EU LLMs, or double down on robust use cases on today\'s stack?

Want momentum? Work with startups: offer pilots, create a path to production, or invest. They are the innovators trying to build the future of European tech.

Panel I Listened To: Status of Selected EUDI Wallets

Moderator: Anika Gehlen (BSI). Panel: Dirk Backofen (T-Systems International), Hartje Bruns (Governikus), Adrian Doerk (Lissi).

    • Country-by-country overview of existing ID wallets: what\'s live and what\'s piloting. There is quite a nice foundation already.
    • What\'s possible vs. current limits: interop, UX, trust frameworks.
    • How to prototype an EU wallet: start lean, test real user flows, validate issuer and registry touchpoints.
    • EU business wallet: a practical path may build on personal wallet foundations with role and attribute extensions.
    • Infrastructure and data protection: design so no unauthorized party can access personal data - using strong isolation, auditable access, and full control.

Great conversations during the evening wine together with Nina-Sophie Sczepurek, Valentijn Koppenaal, Dieter Cullmann, and Dirk Kunze.
